Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FIPFA has announced that the next World Cup originally scheduled to be held in Sydney Australia in October 2021, will be delayed one year.

According to FIPFA, "This decision has been taken based on all factors which include making sure all our players and officials are able to safely prepare in the build up to the event plus ensure that the event can be delivered safely. With the current Covid-19 being fluid and at the different levels across the World plus our Powerchair Community being in the high risk category, we don’t want to ask people to risk anything to attend and not be the best prepared for our World Showcase event."

This means the FIPFA World Cup will take place at the Quay Center, Sydney Olympic Center in October 2022.

Team USA is hopeful to restart the training regimen in April 2021 with a training camp in Greenwood, Indiana.
